Tapoff Belt Four Aces
I had some requests for belt patterns with four aces. I thought it would be more versatile to make just the four aces so you could add them to any belt pattern. They are sold as a mirror image set so you can create a symmetrical pattern or alternate them in your belt pattern. The pattern is 1” x 2 1/2” so it will fit a 1 1/2” belt blank with up to a 1/4” border.
Tapoffs are an old and effective way to quickly and repeatedly transfer a tooling pattern to your leather in preparation for your swivel knife cuts and leather tooling.
To use these tools you must have vegetable tanned leather that has been properly cased with water. The tapoff is placed on the leather and then a metal roller or clicker press can be used to apply pressure to the flat surface of the clicker so the pattern side leaves an impression in the leather. You then have a a pattern marked in the leather, ready to start the tooling.
